The National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, partnered with KOMPANIONS to bring immersive learning to its Ayurvedic education programs. Together, we developed a Virtual Reality-based solution to teach Human Anatomy & Physiology to Ayurveda students at NIA Jaipur.
This immersive solution helps students grasp complex body systems in a highly visual, engaging, and interactive environment—bridging the gap between traditional theory and hands-on understanding.
The National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) is a premier government institution under the Ministry of AYUSH, dedicated to advancing the science and education of Ayurveda in India. Located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, NIA plays a key role in modernizing ancient Ayurvedic wisdom through research, clinical excellence, and education. As part of its progressive approach, the institute sought to integrate cutting-edge technologies into its teaching methodologies.
Ayurvedic students often rely on textbooks and 2D diagrams to study human anatomy—limiting their ability to visualize spatial structures and physiological processes in depth.
The institute required a modern, experiential tool that could bring anatomy to life—without replacing traditional methods, but enhancing them. It had to be accurate, culturally aligned with Ayurveda, and accessible for batch-based learning.
KOMPANIONS developed a custom VR experience tailored for Ayurvedic learners, enabling them to explore human anatomy system-by-system in an interactive and immersive environment. From skeletal to circulatory to muscular systems, each module was built for clarity, ease of navigation, and repeatable access.
The content was structured to complement Ayurvedic pedagogy while offering scientific accuracy—designed in collaboration with domain experts, ensuring both educational credibility and relevance to the curriculum.
This case marks a milestone in the integration of immersive technology with Ayurveda education. By blending ancient medical knowledge with futuristic delivery methods, institutions like NIA are not just keeping up with change—they’re leading it. This model can now be adopted by Ayurveda and other medical institutions across the country.
