Chapter 1 Food: where does it come from? The chapter discusses different ingredients present in various types of foods along with the sources of different food materials. We also discuss various plant parts used as food, food habits of animals and their categories.
Chapter 2 Components of Food The chapter tells us about different components of food, their tests and importance for the body. We also learn the meaning of balanced diet, various deficiency diseases and their symptoms.
Chapter 3 Fibre to Fabric The chapter mentions different varieties of fabrics, in-depth knowledge about fibres, some plant-based fibres like cotton and jute, how fibre changes to fabric, and the history of clothing material.
Chapter 4 Sorting Materials into Groups The chapter discusses different objects around us and the properties of materials.
Chapter 5 Separation of Substances The chapter provides in-depth knowledge about different methods of separation.
Chapter 6 Changes Around Us The chapter describes the difference between reversible and irreversible changes and discusses other ways to bring a change.

Chapter 11 Light, Shadows and Reflections The chapter explains different types of materials like transparent, translucent, and opaque materials. It also explains the shadow and its formation, pinhole camera, nature of light and its properties. It explains the reflection of light by a plane mirror.
Chapter 12 Electricity and Circuits The chapter explains the conductors and insulators. It also explains the construction of the torch and the sources of electricity.

Chapter 16 Garbage in, Garbage Out This chapter discusses about the types of wastes and their segregation. reusing and recycling the waste, vermicomposting, and the steps that can be taken to reduce the waste.
